WELCOME TO BALI

the Bali Dynasty Hotel

Day Two: snorkelling, bananaboating, tanning.

due to drowsy medicine, I slept most of the time :)

gosh, the sea water was SO SALTY, my throat itched from swallowing it :S

oh yes, most of the food in Bali, is buffet style. when you're a tourist that is. so we ate on the boat
Day Three: river rafting, Uluwatu temple, dinner by the Jinbaran beach
these are some of the sightings along the drive towards the river rafting place
due to natural geographical boundaries, we had to trudge down a steep 15 min walk down the mountain to get to the cold river water and await our 4m drop down a small dam :)
while rafting, one of the indo boats played too much, being the complacent beings that they were, they flipped.. see this is why people say don't act smart.and here we have a waterfall
so, after we were done, we took a 2 min climb up the steep mountain again. the poor guides had to deflate the dinghy and fold it and carry it on their heads UP the mountain. they are damn strong man. and you know to see drinks, the villagers carry the can drinks in this huge bucket and trudge along the strong currents and up the mountains. its was WOW
next stop: ULUWATU temple.
the fire dance show was sold out as you can see from the tiny bobs in the picture. and check out how high the temple is :)
sitting on a cliff's edge almost gave my mum a heart attack, so to placate her, I moved in abit

my mum was terrified. HAHAH

then, the best part, a seafood feast by the Jinbaran beach during sunset
while waiting for dinner, the guide took my brother on a motorcycle belonging to the restaurant peeps and rode out to the nearby convenience store to buy FIREWORKS. hahaha. we lit them up and it's SO MUCH FUN. screw sg for stupid rules and stupid flats.

DAY FOUR: Buggy ride, horse riding, volcano seeing and the spice garden

because it was so high up in the mountains, the weather was COLD and fabulous
we ate in the traditional way of eating, sitting down on a hut. It's so funky. we should adopt this style of eating man. you even get to swing your legs!
we arrived at the spice garden where they grow all sorts of things. this is how they roast their coffee beans and boil water for the guests to sample the drink there. the ginseng coffee was fantastic! and once again, I seem to like to be on edge. LOL
FINALLY, MY FAVOURITE PART: HORSERIDING.
in Bali, things are done differently, the person doesn't walk your horse around the stable for 15 mins. you RIDE your horse for 2 hours :D by the beach. it's soo romantic.
this is my horse, SANTI. she's old and half blind, which was why I didnt want her to run, we just trotted down (it's good enough for me) cos I felt pretty bad for making an old hungry lady run. I mean if it was me, I wouldn't even wanna move.

this was my caretaker. apparently they ride all the horses down the beach every day for exercise. so he's called BLACK MAN. haha. the guides are really fun people who love to take pictures for me and kenny and of them. that's the male horse my guide was riding. he got so impatient with santi he kept turning around to neigh at her. I could almost sense the anxiety to race down the beach. but santi just ignored him. :)
this is the black sand beach. the sand's black due to the huge ass volcano eruption in 1964. black sand is really pretty. my mum brought back 2 bags of it and wound up getting checked at sg customs for fear of gunpowder -.-
the people behind me, collect granite stones which are sold for rp 30,000 a bucket which will be then made in to the construction of tiles and stuff like that
oh yes, WEAR jeans when you go horse riding, I wound up with abrasions on both my inner thighs because of the friction between my legs and the saddle while trotting, I don't wanna imagine when it runs.
and, here are some animals we saw in our trip. oh yes, Bali has ALOT of dogs. HAHA

Day Five: a facial, hair treatment, and manicure to placate my exhausted body. however, my body was one bruise because it ached like hell
so that sums up Bali, and I have to say when you go there, you really love the people. They will look at you with curious eyes (the kids especially), wave and smile and ask you 'hello! what is your name!' or 'where are you from!'. it's very adorable :)
